Volunteer with Kangaroos

Volunteer with Kangaroos

Our volunteers are a very important part of our charity and make an enormous contribution to the work of Kangaroos, giving over 1000 hours of their time each year to help us in many different ways.

Meet Millie, we met up with her at the Kangaroos hub and asked her about volunteering at Kangaroos

There are lots of reasons to volunteer!

Try Something New

Volunteering is a chance to try things you've never done before and go to places that you haven't been to before

Make a Difference

Help to make a difference in the lives of people with learning disabilities and their families

Meet New People

There are always lots of interesting new people to meet, whether that be our members, their families or our staff

Gain New Skills

Push yourself to do something outside of your comfort zone and gain some new skills while you do it

Enhance Your CV

Voluntary work looks great on CVs and applications and gives you something to talk about in interviews. We also provide references

Find Your Purpose

If you've got some free time on your hands, why not use it to do something worthwhile

Give Back to your Local Community

Giving back to your community is so worthwhile and rewarding

Progression Opportunities

Many of our full time staff members, started as volunteers!

Have Fun!

We have so much fun at Kangaroos - come and join us!

How you can help

We have volunteers who help at our clubs and activities and accompany our members and staff on excursions.

Others help with our fundraising, either in organising or helping out at events. We also enjoy the support of volunteers in our office, helping us with such things as our communications work.

To ensure the safety of the young people that attend our clubs and activities it is a requirement that all volunteers over the age of 16 have a DBS check.

We respect and value our volunteers. Our volunteer policy helps clarify our mutual obligations.

"Kangaroos is such an amazing group and doing such an amazing thing for the community"
