Emma joined us in August 2023. Her role is to provide leadership and operational management to the charity, within the strategic policy and accountability framework, approved by the Board of Trustees.

Grants and Contracts Manager
Jenni Herrett
Jenni is one of our Senior Managers. Jenni is one of the founders of the charity and is responsible for generating income primarily from Trusts, Foundations and Local Authorities and maintaining effective relationships with them.

Head of Operations
Lorna Herrett
Lorna works full time and has been part of the office team since 2013. Lorna is responsible for coordinating, developing, researching and planning activities across all age groups for Kangaroos members. Lorna is also Safeguarding Lead and leads some groups.

Operations Co-ordinator
Emily Day
Emily began her journey with Kangaroos as a volunteer in 2012, then became a paid sessional worker. In July 2021, Emily joined the operations team as Activities Coordinator. Her role includes the coordination, development, and planning of clubs and activities. Emily also leads in ensuring the members’ care plans and records are up to date and she still plays an active role supporting members and sessional staff during sessions.

Denise Tester
Denise works part-time and joined Kangaroos in 2019. Denise is part of the team delivering our clubs and activities. Denise is also responsible for recruiting and training volunteers.

Business and Community Fundraising Co-ordinator
Samantha Norgate
Samantha has been with Kangaroos since 2012. Samantha is responsible for all of our Business, Community and Events fundraising. Samantha helps to raise awareness of the organisation’s work and raises funds by the use of business networking.

Clare Beard
Clare joined Kangaroos in Nov 2016 and works part-time. Clare is responsible for our day to day finance function including payroll, invoices, expenses and financial data input

Operations Assistant
Sophie Easton
Sophie has been a member of the Kangaroos Sessional Staff for several years, and we are delighted to welcome her into the office team in a new capacity. Sophie will be supporting the operations team on the ground and behind the scenes to ensure our clubs and activities run smoothly.

Business Analyst & Trustee Support
Jayne Smith
Jayne is an experienced administrator, with qualifications in data and business analysis and has been brought in to Kangaroos to create more efficient, effective and transparent systems and processes for Kangaroos.

Jayne also provides administration support and company secretary duties for the Trustees.
Sessional Workers
We have a bank of more than 50 sessional workers who run our clubs and activities and ensure the safety and support of our Members attending the sessions. It is the dedication, experience and knowledge of our sessional staff that underpins Kangaroos success.
Many of our sessional workers work in local SEN schools or care organisations, bringing with them knowledge and experience to meet the needs of our members.
