Kangaroos releases Impact Report showcasing life before lockdown

Find out how Kangaroos makes a real difference to the lives of people with learning disabilities in our latest Impact Report. The booklet brings a welcome splash of colour during difficult times and is a reminder of why we, as a charity are here – to bring colour to the lives of people with learning disabilities.

The report, which evaluates the effectiveness of the services we offer, is produced each year, with this one covering our financial year from 1st April 2019 to 31st March 2020.

A ray of sunshine

Showcasing life for our members before the pandemic, it is an absolute joy to read. Filled with wonderful photos capturing all of our magnificent achievements during our 25th Anniversary year, this publication brings a ray of sunshine in the current uncertain climate.

What we are doing now

While we are unable to offer the same kind of activities and outings at the moment for obvious reasons, we have adapted to continue to support our members through difficult times with our virtual activity programme and closed Facebook group. We have also tentatively re-opened some face-to-face outdoor activities and limited evening and half-term clubs will be starting up again at the Ashenground Community Centre during October.

Our online programme will continue to feature in our offering for the foreseeable future and we are continually looking for ways we can support our young people to enjoy activities and maintain friendships during these unprecedented times, albeit in different formats to our pre-Covid clubs and trips.

Our gratitude

A huge thank you goes to our staff and volunteers who continue to do their best to keep the Kangaroos spirit going, and to our committed supporters for their vital donations during a time when our ability to raise funds has been significantly and detrimentally affected. Keep posting and liking us on our Facebook page – it has become a vibrant online community and is keeping us all connected.

We are as determined as ever to continue to bring colour, joy, fun and friendship to the lives of people with learning disabilities. It’s the only way we know how!

We hope you love the Impact Report as much as we do. It’s certainly put smiles on our faces. Simply click here and enjoy the read.
