Make a splash for Kangaroos and your chosen charity by joining our inclusive Swimarathon.
Celebrating over 40 years of community spirit, with thanks to the Haywards Heath Lions, Kangaroos are thrilled to host the legendary Swimarathon for 2026.
Whether you’re a seasoned swimmer or simply love a challenge, this is your chance to make waves for a cause that truly matters. By taking part, you’ll help us bring colour to the lives of people with disabilities — and fundraise for your chosen charity too.
Last year, swimmers raised an incredible £25,000. There are no limits on who can enter — all ages and abilities are welcome! Families, friends, local businesses, community groups and schools are all encouraged to take part.
Why Swim for Kangaroos (and Your Chosen Charity)?
Every lap you swim helps fund:

Kangaroos: Providing life-changing recreational activities for children and young adults with learning disabilities across Mid Sussex.

Your Chosen Charity: Each team can nominate a second charity to share in the funds they raise — or choose to support Kangaroos entirely.
How It Works

Form a Team: 6 swimmers plus a 7th member to count lengths and cheer. (If you don’t have a full team, we can help you find one.)

Raise What You Can: No minimum sponsorship required.

Choose Your Charities: Split your fundraising between Kangaroos and another charity of your choice — or donate it all to Kangaroos.

Swim: Each team swims for 55 minutes in a fun, non-competitive relay format.

Celebrate: Enjoy the buzz, community spirit and sense of achievement.
Teams will swim between 8am and 6pm, with hourly changeovers. All participants must be confident swimmers able to swim a 25m length. Under 16s must be entered and accompanied by an adult.
Entry Details
This year, we’re introducing a £10 entry fee per team to enhance the Swimarathon experience for everyone. Your entry includes:

Support to boost donations for both Kangaroos and your chosen charity
Can’t Make It?
If you can’t attend but still want to support, you can donate directly to Kangaroos. Every contribution helps.
Volunteers
We couldn’t run this event without our wonderful volunteers. If you’d like to help with registrations, counting lengths or general support on the day, please get in touch — we’d love to have you involved.

A limited number of business sponsorship packages are available. Swimarathon offers a unique opportunity to align your brand with a much-loved community event that promotes inclusion, wellbeing, and local impact.
