2019 has been a very special year for Kangaroos, as we have been celebrating our 25th anniversary. To mark this we have been running our Memory of a Lifetime Campaign and supporting all of our young people to participate in an activity that they will remember for the rest of their lives.
We are delighted that our anniversary year was generously sponsored by two local companies:
Some of our members have chosen to participate in one of our very special overnight trips. The trips included visits to DisneyLand in Paris, Alton Towers, Center Parcs and a night out in London staying at a hotel and seeing the Lion King.

“Nathan recently attended the London overnight trip to see the Lion King. The show obviously made an impression as Nathan acted out some of the songs when telling us about it, all the time beaming with the biggest smile. Thank you for giving Nathan this wonderful experience.” Parent, February 2019
Some of our members have chosen to go on a very special day out. These trips included the exclusive use of Blackberry Farm Park in Sussex, a trip to the London Eye and a river boat cruise on the Thames, a trip to the i360 in Brighton with a tour on an open top bus and, for our STARS group with complex medical needs, a trip in a speedboat around Portsmouth Harbour.

On Saturday 27th July 2019 we celebrated our 25th anniversary with a special event, Kangafest, an inclusive festival held at Woodland Meads School for our members, families, staff, volunteers (past and present) and all of our supporters. Over 350 people attended the event.
It was a fun packed day which included a main stage with entertainment, a pamper tent, a circus skills workshop, bouncy castle, music and sensory workshops, a photo booth, animal encounter, face painting, cricket skills and much more.
Our Kangachallenge included a fun Hopathon and Kangarace with heats on spacehoppers. A big thank you to all involved. It really was a special day to remember.
