Last year was an incredible year for Kangaroos as we celebrated the charity’s 25th Anniversary. To mark the occasion we have published a very special booklet to celebrate and record our achievements.
Throughout 2019 we put on additional day trips, overnight stays and 2-night mini breaks for all of our members. As a charity for children and young adults with learning disabilities we wanted to celebrate our continuing desire to push boundaries and create some very special memories for our members. We are absolutely delighted that we were able to achieve this.
For example, over the years many of our young persons have said they would like to go to Disneyland, a trip we never thought possible. But in 2019, as part of our Memory of a Lifetime campaign, we finally made this dream come true for some of our members.
Other special trips included seeing the Lion King at the theatre in London, short stays at Center Parcs and Alton Towers, day outings to Blackberry Farm Park, and a tour of Brighton on a vintage bus with afternoon tea, plus other special excursions.
Special Memory booklet marks 25 years of Kangaroos
To mark the close of our 25th anniversary year, we wanted to capture the charity’s journey from when it first set up in 1993. We decided to document all of the Kangaroos’ milestones in a very special booklet, named Memories of 25 years.
The special memory booklet features lots of lovely photos of our members on their 25th anniversary trips, and at our celebratory festival, Kangafest. There are highlights of some of our special fundraising events and achievements, as well as information about how the charity has grown over the years.
The booklet also includes a glimpse into the future, with a snapshot reveal of the charity’s objectives over the next three years by our CEO, Peter Ackland.
The pictures of our members in the booklet say so much about what the Kangaroos charity stands for. Full of smiles and excitement, the photographs included are a great testimony to the fun our members have had over the past year.
