To book an activity you must be a member of Kangaroos. Before you can join as a Member we will discuss your young person’s needs to ensure that Kangaroos is the right place for them. We will also arrange for you to visit one of our groups so that you can experience first-hand the activities and support we can provide.
Upon becoming a Member you will receive regular updates of the club programmes and activities, usually of all the clubs running over the forthcoming 2-3 months. We plan ahead so that we can ensure we have the right support in place for all of our young people.
All sessions are booked through our external booking system. Once you are a Member you will be given access to the booking system to request the specific activities you want your young person to attend. We then confirm if a space has been allocated. Although we cannot guarantee a place on every activity, we do our best to ensure our service users receive at least 80% of their requests.
Once activities have been confirmed we ask for payment in advance so that we can plan the activity, make event bookings and ensure we have appropriate staffing in place.
Safeguarding for all young persons that attend our clubs and activities is our absolute number one concern. Read more about our safeguarding policy.
Our admissions and service user policy helps clarify our mutual obligations. Read more about our admissions and service user policy.
We do make an hourly charge for participating in an activity.
The current fees are:
£4.75 an hour for an “in” session where people stay at the venue for the activity
£5.25 an hour plus a contribution towards the transport costs for activities that involve “out” visits.
Our fees have been set with affordability in mind and only cover about a quarter of the actual costs of running the clubs and activities. For families on low income we have a concessionary rate. Read more about our fees and concessions policy.
