Peter was appointed as part-time Chief Executive in 2018 to provide leadership to the charity and to be responsible for its management and administration, within the strategic policy and accountability framework approved by the Board of Trustees.
Jenni works part time and is one of our Senior Managers. Jenni is one of the founders of the charity and is responsible for generating income primarily from Trusts, Foundations and Local Authorities and maintaining effective relationships with them.
Lorna works full time and has been part of the office team since 2013. Lorna is responsible for coordinating, developing, researching and planning activities across all age groups for Kangaroos members. Lorna is also Deputy Safeguarding Lead and leads some groups.
Samantha has been with Kangaroos since 2012 and works full time. Samantha is responsible for all of our Business, Community and Events fundraising. Samantha helps to raise awareness of the organisation’s work and raises funds by the use of targeted external communications and events, as well as PR, marketing and business networking.
Lauren joined Kangaroos in August 2019 to oversee our individual giving fundraising programme. She looks after our lovely supporters and manages general donations coming into the charity as well as regular gifts, gifts in Wills, gifts in memory of a loved one, and gifts made via company payroll schemes. Lauren also looks after major gifts and anyone wishing to support the charity in this way.
Denise works part time and joined Kangaroos in 2019. Denise is responsible for supporting the Operations and Quality Manager and the Activities Coordinator to deliver our clubs and activities. Denise is also responsible for recruiting and training volunteers.
Julia joined Kangaroos in Oct 2019 and works part-time. Julia is responsible for all of our PR and communications, including upkeep of the website, blog writing, and the production of members and business newsletters, as well as supporting the team and contributing to a range of projects. Julia helps to raise awareness about Kangaroos across multiple channels.
Clare joined Kangaroos in Nov 2016 and works part-time. Clare is responsible for our day to day finance function including payroll, invoices, expenses and financial data input
We have a bank of more than 40 sessional staff who run our clubs and activities and ensure the safety and support of our Members attending the sessions. It is the dedication, experience and knowledge of our sessional staff that underpins Kangaroos success and which results in such positive feedback from our members and their parent carers.
Many of our sessional staff work in local SEN schools or care organisations, bringing with them knowledge and experience to meet the needs of our members. Some of our staff have gained their experience by volunteering with Kangaroos and have been promoted to paid positions due to their dedication and commitment to our members.
