Swimarathon Team Exceeds Targets In and Out of the Pool!

A team of Kangaheroes, including members, siblings, alumni and parents took part in the Haywards Heath Lions Swimarathon on Good Friday – a fantastic inclusive community event which was brilliant to be apart of!

Swimming a total of 72 lengths between them, all those taking part were swimming to raise funds for Kangaroos, that supports them or their family member. With a few more donations they are well on the way to raising over £1,000! You can donate here

Kezia, 8, a Kangaroos member who has Downs Syndrome, surpassed her personal best by swimming 10 lengths unaided. We were so pleased to be joined by Millie, 20, a Kangaroos alumni, now living in assisted living in Dorset, for the event too!

‘They blew me away with their determination and stamina to do their best. None of them gave up and all took on this physical event with a huge smile.’ – Samantha Norgate, Fundraising Coordinator for Kangaroos

Thank you to the Haywards Heath Lions for putting on a fantastic event, we can’t wait for next year!
